Status: Resident in UK.

Wing Span:44mm to 52mm.

Flight Period: April and May.

Habitat: This moth is single brooded and is on the wing in late April and May.

Comment: This moth is a widespread resident, and is common in its larval stage over most of England. It is found as far north as County Durham and Cumbria. In Wales the species is localised and quite scarce.

Status: Resident in UK.

Wing Span: 47mm to 56mm.

Flight Period: Pyramidea: August to October,  Berbera: July to September.

Habitat: Both can be found in where ever there is suitable trees.

Comment: Fairly common and wide spread in England & Wales, as far north as Yorkshire. Berbera: Is recorded from Glasgow, but not Ireland. Pyramidea: has few records in Ireland and Scotland.

Status: Resident in UK.

Wing Span: 32mm to 40mm.

Flight Period: July to September.

Habitat: They inhabit gardens, wood land, fen land, sand hills and moor land.

Comment: This species is a fairly common resident, and is widely distributed throughout the British Isles, including the Inner Hebrides.

Status: Resident in UK.

Wing Span: 38mm to 48mm.

Flight Period: November to December.

Habitat: Woodland, parks, gardens, commons and other places with bushes.

Comment: This moth is wide spread, but locally common in the south half of England, and most of Wales. Local, but wide spread in the north as far as Cumbria and Northumberland. It is local in some parts of Ireland.

Status: Resident in UK.

Wing Span: 32mm to 40mm.

Flight Period: March to May.

Habitat: Woodland, commons, gardens and parks and other places where the food plants grow.

Comment: Common in England, Wales and Ireland, with the exception of the north west of England. In Scotland it is localised, and found as far north as Sutherland and the Hebrides.

Flight Period: September to November.

Habitat: Woodland, parks, gardens, hedgerows, commons and other bushy places where the food plants grow.

Comment: Common and wide spread in England, Wales, Ireland and south Scotland. It is found more locally in other parts of Scotland, as far north as the Inner Hebrides and Sutherland.
