Status: Resident in UK.

Wing Span: 38mm to 48mm.

Flight Period: June and July.

Habitat: Bushy places such as open wood land, commons, hedgerows, gardens and parks, where Birch, Elm, Hawthorn, Sallow and Blackthorn.

Comment:  This species is widely distributed through out the British Isles, how ever it is not a common moth.

Status: Resident in UK.

Wing Span: 43mm to 53mm.

Flight Period: May

Habitat:  It is mainly an inhabitant of deciduous woods, some times found in gardens with tree's, and the food plants.

Comment: Common, and wide spread over much of the UK. Melanic forms of this moth are recorded from Cannock Chase, and nearby in Staffordshire.

Status: Resident in UK.

Wing Span: 38mm to 44mm.

Flight Period: July and August.

Habitat: Found in many types of habitat like parks, gardens, commons, heaths,  waste ground and any fairly open locality where the food plants grow.

Comment: This is reasonably common and is wide spread throughout the British Isles.

Status: Resident in UK.

Wing Span: 28mm to 36mm.

Flight Period: August and September.

Habitat: Habitats for this species are moor land and heath land.

Comment: This species is a fairly common, and widely distributed resident through out much of the British Isles. Reddish forms are found mainly Wales and south west England.

Status: Resident in UK.

Wing Span:30mm to 40mm.

Flight Period: May

Habitat: The Square-spot Rustic is found in many types of grassy habitats including parks, gardens, disused railways, roadside verges, commons, waste ground.

Comment: This is a common moth that is wide spread throughout the UK.
