UK Status: Non resident, endemic to the Philippine Islands.,

Habitat: This wild pig is endemic to six of the Philippine Islands, Cebu, Negros, Panay, Masbate, Guimaras and Siquijor. These pigs are thought to be extinct on the other Philippine Islands, but it is possible however that a few have survived on other islands in remote places.

Comment: These pigs are highly endangered due to habitat loss, mainly from human activity, caused by deforestation. In it's home lands the species is known by many different local common names.
