UK Status: Resident. Wing Span: 76mm to 93mm. Flight Period: May and June, some times a second brood in August. Habitat: Norfolk Broads and marshes. Comment: scarce, and only found in the Norfolk Broads. They were found in many marshes and fens on the eastern side of England, land drainage caused the extinction of many colonies. |

UK Status: Resident. Wing Span: 27mm to 34mm. Flight Period: May and June. Habitat: The food plant is Birds-foot Trefoil. So it is found in open sunny habitats. Comment: The only Skipper to be found in Ireland. Its distribution in the UK is mainly in England, with a few colonies in Wales and Scotland. |

UK Status: Resident. Wing Span: 23mm to 29mm. Flight Period: May and June. Habitat: Habitats include disused railway lines, chalk down land, wood land rides and waste ground. Comment: Restricted to the southern half of Britain. It is not found in Scotland or Ireland, and in Wales it is only found close to the border with England. |
UK Status: Resident. Wing Span: 26mm to 30mm. Flight Period: June until August. Habitat: The Essex Skipper flies a bit later than Small Skippers. They overlap, and inhabit the same grassy places so id is difficult. Comment: The last two decades, into Yorkshire, north Midlands, and west into Somerset. |
UK Status: Resident. Wing Span: 29mm to 34mm. Flight Period: August and September. Habitat: Grassy chalk down lands and cliff tops, usually on south facing slopes. Comment: Restricted to a few localities in southern England. Readily identified by the silvery white spots on the under wings. |
