Turkey Tails Bracket: Warning: This fungi is parasitic, and is inedible. Habitat: This fungi is is found everywhere in the world, and is very variable in colour. This picture represents one of it's more dowdy colour forms, in some countries it can be all the colours of the rainbow. This bract grows in tiered layers, as seen in the picture to the left. It can be seen throughout the year, but is at it's best in the autumn. Turkey Tail grows on both sead and living tree's. Comment: Common in most parts of the British Isles, often grows on decaying wood. |
