Thymus serpyllus

UK Status: There are native species of wild Thyme in the UK. There are hundreds of species, and sub species of Thyme globally,.

Flowering Period: From late spring through to late summer..

Appx Height: Up to 30cm.

Habitat: This plant is found on thin soils on river banks, heaths, moors, lower mountain sides and rocky outcrops.

Comment: This is an important food plant globally for the larvae of many butterfly species. In the UK it is consumed by the caterpillars of both the Common and Large Blue butterflies.
