Status: Resident in UK. Wing Span: 32mm to 38mm. Flight Period: May to July, again in July until September. Habitat: Gardens, woods, waste ground, hedgerows where Stinging Nettle grow. Comment: Common and wide spread over most of the UK, including Orkney and Hebrides. |

Comment: A common immigrant and resident in the UK. There is a scarcer dwarf aberration, ab. gammina. Ab. Autographa nigricans is a rare melanic velvety black variation. |
