Wing Span: 31mm to 38mm.

Flight Period: July and August.

Habitat: Woodland, waste ground, hedgerows, gardens, where the food plants grow.

Comment: This species is widespread throughout England, Wales and Ireland. In Scotland it is mainly on the east coast.

Status: Resident in UK.

Wing Span: 30mm to 35mm.

Flight Period: August to October.

Habitat: Bushy places, like open woods, heaths, commons, hedgerows, where the food plants grow.

Comment: Fairly common through England, Wales and Ireland, except north of England. Local and scarce in north England  and  south Scotland.

Status: Resident in UK.

Wing Span: 24mm to 48mm.

Flight Period: August to October.

Habitat: Woods, fens, parks, orchards, gardens and bushy places.

Comment: This moth is wide spread and fairly common in England and Wales, except the far north of England where it local. It maybe in southern Scotland. Doubtful records in Ireland.

Status: Resident in UK.

Wing Span: 28mm to 34mm.

Flight Period: May and June, again in July and August.

Habitat: Grassy with wild flowers.

Comment: Wide spread and fairly common in south England. Local and scarce in Wales, north England and south Scotland. In Ireland it is recorded from a few counties

Habitat: Grassy area's with an with wild flowers, such as downs, heaths, railway embankments and woods.

Comment: This moth is wide spread and fairly common in England, Wales and Ireland. Local and scarce in Scotland, as far north as Ross-shire.
