Can you tell which is which?
The Strawberry Tortrix and the Dark Triangle Button are very difficult to tell apart, without genitalia dissection, or DNA sequencing. Their flight periods overlap, and because seasonal conditions vary, the date a specimen is observed is not a reliable indicator for identification. |

Status: Resident in UK. Wing Span: 18mm to 22mm. Flight Period: July to September. Habitat: Parks, woodlands gardens and other places with trees. The larvae feed on the leaves and shoots of a wide variety of trees. Comment: This moth is fairly common in the southern half of Britain, becoming scarcer further north. |
