Primrose:

UK Status: Resident and native.

Appx Height: 10cm up to 20cm.

Flowering: Period: Usually flowering between late March until late May, or early June. Sometimes however they can flower as early as late December.

Habitat: This plant has very similar requirements to the Common Cowslip, and they are often found growing alongside each other. The flowers are generally paler than those  of the Cowslip, and sometimes off white with a yellow centre. They like open grassland, grassy embankments, roadside verges, woodland rides and heaths.

Comment: In the British Isles it is widely distributed throughout, and is quite common in some parts.
