Asiatic Leopard Cat:  

UK Status: Native to South, and South East Asia, and Eastern Asia. This cat can be found in the UK in wildlife parks and zoo's.

Habitat: This beautiful cat inhabits Evergreen Rain Forest, Deciduous and Coniferous Forest, in the Himalaya's. They can be found up to an altitude of just over four and a half thousand feet. The Asian Leopard Cat is slightly larger than our average UK domesticated cats. This cats range extends from Northern Pakistan and Afghanistan, through large parts of India, and south east Asia to far Eastern Russia. These wild cats are carnivorous and feed on rats, mice, snakes lizards, birds and birds eggs etc, etc.

Breeding: The breeding season time varies a lot, because of the varying weather conditions, and time zones over the very large range that it inhabits. Gestation lasts for sixty to seventy days, and the females usually give birth in the spring. The kittens reach sexual maturity after about a year to eighteen months.

Comment: This cat is on the red endangered list, due to loss of habitat, and hunting competion from humans.
